Last week’s inaugural Indigenous Business Forum in Broome brought Aboriginal businesses together to share their knowledge, lived experiences of success and challenge and future aspirations.

While stakeholders and funders were well represented, Morrgul CEO Patrick Le Lievre said the Aboriginal businesses in attendance spoke clearly about the need for greater influence over the Indigenous business ecosystem to ensure more value is retained within communities and continues to circulate locally.
Other key priorities included:
🔸Navigating land tenure challenges
🔸Strengthening pathways to capital investment
🔸Access to reliable, accurate data to better inform enterprise development and long-term planning

A sincere thank you to Djarindjin Aboriginal Corporation, particularly Brian Lee and Nathan McIvor, for their leadership, support and advocacy, and to the Broome Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. for hosting this important event

Acknowledgment to Country

Morrgul acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country, the Aboriginal people of the many lands that we work on and their language groups throughout Western Australia and recognise their continuing connection to the land and waters. We respect their continuing culture and the contribution they make to the life of our regions, and we pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
