Remote Solar Solutions is an Aboriginal owned and operated family business, local to the Kimberley, servicing the Kimberley from its Derby premises.
The business’ primary service is solar power system design, supply, and installation, specifically of remote stand-alone (off-grid) solar photovoltaic and hybrid solar/generator power systems. Remote Solar Solutions specialise in meeting the needs of their clients seeking renewable energy sources for comfortable and cost-effective living in isolated and remote areas. Since July 2019 they have also been installing grid-connected rooftop solar power systems on the Horizon Power network.

Meet Duane
Remote Solar Solutions founder, Duane Russ, grew up on Gibb River Station in the heart of the Kimberley and has strong family ties throughout the region. His family is well-known and respected among Aboriginal people.
Duane’s passion for and knowledge of solar power systems stems from a combination of living “off-grid” in his family home, and a learning process that has evolved over the last decade under the previous business name “Russ Mechanical Solutions”. Narrowing the focus into designing and installing renewable energy systems is reflected by rebranding into what is now Remote Solar Solutions.
Duane is a true Kimberley man, with exceptional knowledge of the region, intuitive problem-solving skills and adaptability – assets that are relied upon heavily in such an unpredictable and often challenging geographical and isolated region.
